What is Amazon Route 53?

Amazon Route 53 is a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) web service designed to route end users to Internet applications. Route 53 connects user requests to AWS infrastructure running in EC2, ELB, S3, and external resources. It offers domain registration, DNS routing, and health checking of resources.
